Iran has proposed establishing a joint free zone with Pakistan at the Rimdan–Gabd border crossing, focusing on logistics, industrial development, and trade. It has called for a public-private partnership model to implement it.
Rimdan has the potential to develop into one of Iran’s most important and efficient trade gateways, provided that investment in logistics, transport, and border infrastructure is accelerated, the secretary of Iran’s High Council of Free and Special Economic Zones said.
Iran's Customs Administration has reported a fourfold increase in average truck traffic through the Rimdan border crossing in Sistan and Baluchestan Province compared to the previous year, prompting the expansion of customs infrastructure at the strategic trade gateway.
