Germany’s financial regulator BaFin is seeking to end the more than five-decade presence of Bank Sepah’s Frankfurt branch, moving to revoke its operating licence on the grounds of what it describes as a “technical inability to meet its obligations,” while the Iranian bank is pursuing legal avenues to challenge the decision.
