Qom Identifies 19 New Investment Opportunities

QOM, Iran — Qom Province has identified 19 new investment opportunities packaged as unbranded investment proposals, which will be made available to domestic and foreign investors after completing the required approval procedures, the province’s director general of economic affairs and finance has announced.

According to Shada, Nayereh Mazhar said the 19 investment packages had been identified by provincial agencies, including five by the Department General of Industry, Mining and Trade, seven by the Agricultural Jihad Organization, five by the Department General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, and two by the Salafchegan Special Economic Zone.
Mzahir said presenting investment opportunities as unbranded packages would help streamline the process of attracting investors.

Once approved by the provincial Planning Council, the proposals will receive identification codes and be promoted to domestic and foreign investors through official calls for investment, she added.

One of the main advantages of this approach is that it reduces the need for investors to obtain multiple clearances from different government agencies, Mazhar said. Following the official call and selection of an investor, the successful applicant can begin the investment and project development process without having to navigate lengthy administrative procedures.

She noted, however, that the 19 proposed projects still require further assessments covering technical feasibility, economic viability, rates of return, investment requirements in both Iranian rials and foreign currencies, and projected operating periods.

So far, five of the projects have received approval from the provincial Planning Council, she said.

Referring to a recent meeting with agencies involved in investment promotion, Mazhar said participants had stressed the need to identify additional investment opportunities and encourage greater engagement by relevant government bodies.

The initiative aims to ensure that development needs across all sectors of the province are reflected in the investment pipeline, helping promote more balanced regional development, she added.
