Saeid Mollaasmaeili said the new investment licenses were issued for industrial projects to be implemented in the cities of Saveh and Zaviyeh, adding that the projects are expected to expand industrial activity, increase production capacity, and create new employment opportunities in the province.
The projects form part of efforts to strengthen Markazi Province’s industrial base and attract additional foreign capital to its economy, according to Iran’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance news service, SHADA.
Foreign capital inflows reach $700,000
Mollaasmaeili said $700,000 in foreign capital entered Markazi Province during the first six months of the Iranian year 1405, which began on March 20, 2026.
He said the inflow is expected to continue through the remainder of the year, citing projects already under implementation and ongoing efforts to facilitate additional foreign investment.
Markazi Province is one of Iran’s major industrial centers, with a manufacturing base spanning multiple sectors and a concentration of industrial activity around cities such as Saveh and Arak.
Focus on easing investment procedures
Mollaasmaeili stressed the importance of foreign investment in supporting the province’s economic development, identifying the streamlining of administrative procedures, investor support and the identification of new economic opportunities as key priorities.
He said improving the investment environment and reducing administrative barriers would help make it easier for foreign investors to participate in projects across the province.
Foreign investment, he added, can provide more than financial resources for productive projects. It can also facilitate technology and know-how transfers, strengthen the competitiveness of local industries, create sustainable employment and support broader economic activity.
The latest licenses bring the total value of newly approved foreign investment projects in Markazi Province during the first half of the year to $33 million, while the reported $700,000 in realized capital inflows highlights the distinction between investment approvals and the actual entry of funds into the economy.
Iran’s Markazi Province issued four new licenses for foreign investment projects worth a combined $33 million in the first half of the current Iranian year, while actual foreign capital inflows into the province reached $700,000, the provincial director-general for economic and financial affairs said.
