Foroud Asgari, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and head of IRICA, said the country’s border crossings with all neighboring states are currently operational, adding that the capacity for receiving export trucks has been raised following recent negotiations with the heads of the customs administrations of Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The increase has been particularly significant at some crossings. At the Bazargan border crossing with Türkiye, for example, the daily truck acceptance capacity has been doubled from 200 to 400 vehicles.

The situation at Iran’s border crossings with Azerbaijan has also improved, Asgari said, while at the border with Armenia, the daily quota set by the destination country for accepting trucks has been raised from 200 to 300 vehicles.

Turning to inbound truck traffic, the IRICA chief said there were no restrictions on receiving trucks entering Iran, stressing that Iranian customs authorities had the capacity to process any number of inbound trucks.

Asgari also said that waiting lines for trucks at some customs facilities and ports currently range from **10 to 15 days**, underscoring the continued pressure on cross-border freight flows despite the recent increase in truck-handling capacity.
