Bushehr Approves 21 Foreign Investment Projects Worth $143 Million

Iran’s southern Bushehr Province has approved 21 foreign investment projects totaling $143 million, strengthening its position as the country’s leading province in investment volume and opening new opportunities to attract domestic and international capital.

According to Iran’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, Rasoul Zarei, director general of economic and financial affairs of Bushehr Province, said the projects had been approved between March 21, 2025, and August 22, 2026, and subsequently endorsed and notified by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance.

Zarei said the simultaneous increase in both the number and value of approved projects reflected Bushehr’s growing appeal to foreign investors, as well as its ability to attract financial resources and channel them into productive, development-oriented activities.

He added that Bushehr ranked first nationwide in the volume of investment in the country’s assessment of investment projects, highlighting the province’s significant potential to attract, direct, and deploy capital across different sectors of the economy.

Zarei also identified the establishment and launch of the Bushehr Free Trade-Industrial Zone as a major strategic opportunity for the province’s economy. The zone, he said, could accelerate the inflow of domestic and foreign investment by creating new incentives and infrastructure for trade, production and investment, while enhancing Bushehr’s role in regional economic engagement.

He said facilitating investment procedures, removing barriers facing investors, promoting the province’s economic potential, and capitalizing on new opportunities such as the Bushehr Free Trade-Industrial Zone were among the provincial authorities’ priorities to strengthen investment flows, expand productive activity, and achieve sustainable economic growth.
