Farzin Behnami-Far said $6 billion in foreign investment projects had been approved in the province over the same period, with $90 million of the approved investment having been realized in the form of physical equipment and technology transfers.
He said 123 new investment opportunities had also been identified and compiled in a bilingual investment guide as part of efforts to attract foreign capital to the province.
Behnami-Far said Alborz was promoting its investment potential through continued engagement with foreign ambassadors, chambers of commerce and economic attachés. So far, 34 field visits had been conducted to assess the province’s investment opportunities and capabilities.
Given constraints on land availability, energy supply and environmental requirements, he said the province was prioritizing clean, water-efficient industries and projects with high added value, alongside selected opportunities in tourism, agriculture and infrastructure.
To facilitate foreign investment, the Economy Ministry has also delegated certain powers related to the issuance and renewal of work permits for foreign investors and their dependents to provincial investment services centers and provincial departments of cooperatives, labor and social welfare.
The measure is intended to streamline administrative procedures and accelerate services for foreign investors.
