According to Shada, Mohammad Rezvani-Far said the value of the imported gold bars amounted to $2.5 billion. He noted that during the six months of the last year, Iran imported 7.3 tons of gold bars valued at $466 million.
Rezvani-Far stated that 96.8% of gold imports by weight were processed through customs at Imam Khomeini Airport (IKA). He also highlighted that other customs points, including Bashmaq, Tabriz, Mashhad, Isfahan Airport, Piranshahr, and Yazd, were involved in the importation of gold bars.
This significant increase in gold imports reflects Iran's ongoing efforts to bolster its economy amid challenges.
