Iran's Tejarat Bank Expands Cooperation with Petrochemical Company to Support Reconstruction

Iran's Tejarat Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the reconstruction of petrochemical companies damaged in recent incidents, pledging to expand financial cooperation with the National Petrochemical Company of Iran (NPC) through modern banking and financing instruments.

According to Shada, the official news outlet of Iran’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, Bank Tejarat CEO Hadi Akhlaghi made the commitment during a meeting with Morteza Shakeri, deputy oil minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company of Iran.

Akhlaghi described Bank Tejarat as a specialized banking partner for Iran’s petrochemical sector, emphasizing its readiness to broaden cooperation with the industry by drawing on innovative financing solutions.

He said the bank was fully prepared to support the reconstruction of NPC subsidiaries that had sustained damage in recent incidents, adding that backing Iran’s petrochemical industry was an integral part of the bank’s mandate and that it would spare no effort in fulfilling that responsibility.

The meeting also addressed ways to streamline the settlement of debts and financial obligations between NPC and its subsidiaries. The parties agreed to pursue these settlements through modern banking instruments, including electronic bills of exchange.

Tejarat Bank also expressed readiness to support NPC through its Roozno product for employees and its Kalano scheme, which is designed to help strengthen the company’s vehicle fleet.

For his part, Shakeri welcomed the prospect of expanded cooperation, praising Bank Tejarat’s longstanding support for Iran’s energy and petrochemical industries.

He said the bank had consistently supported the sector and provided valuable services, adding that NPC welcomed closer engagement and greater use of the financial institution’s capabilities.

The expanded cooperation is expected to strengthen financial support for the petrochemical sector, facilitate the settlement of intercompany obligations and help advance reconstruction efforts through modern banking solutions.
