CBI Chief Meets Turkish, Tunisian Counterparts in Istanbul

Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Governor Abdolnasser Hemmati held talks with his Turkish and Tunisian counterparts in Istanbul on expanding monetary and banking cooperation among Islamic countries.

Hemmati met with the governors of the central banks of Turkey and Tunisia on the sidelines of a summit of central bank governors from Islamic countries.

The three central bank governors emphasized the expansion of bilateral and multilateral cooperation among Islamic countries.

Strengthening monetary and banking interactions among the three countries was also among the issues discussed during the meeting.

Hemmati has traveled to Istanbul at the head of a high-level delegation to attend the summit of central bank governors from Islamic countries. During the visit, he is also holding bilateral meetings with officials from member states to explore ways of deepening banking and trade cooperation and facilitating commercial exchanges.
