According to Iran’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, the meeting, attended by senior executives of Mir Business Bank, focused on the latest state of financial and banking interactions between the two countries.
At the outset of the meeting, General Director of Mir Business Bank Mohammad Hazzar provided an overview of the bank’s operations in Russia, including its activities, recent measures, transactions, and financial services.
Jalali welcomed the bank’s efforts to facilitate monetary and financial transactions between the two countries and pointed to the steady expansion of economic ties between Iran and Russia.
He stressed the need to strengthen the financial and trade infrastructure underpinning bilateral commerce and called on Mir Business Bank to play a more active role in the Iran-Russia trade chain and provide greater support to businesses and traders.
Madanizadeh, meanwhile, praised Bank Melli Iran’s investment in Mir Business Bank, describing the move as a strategic step toward strengthening bilateral banking ties. He said the bank was committed to expanding its financial services and deepening cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian minister also outlined a series of practical measures to enhance banking cooperation with Russia. These included launching a foreign-currency credit card, expanding access to financing in cooperation with Mir Business Bank, moving toward joint investment and production projects with Russia and other Eurasian markets, expanding bank-guarantee services for investors, and developing the bank’s physical and digital branch network.
The proposals are aimed at strengthening the financial and trade infrastructure between Iran and Russia, facilitating bilateral economic transactions and creating greater opportunities for banks and businesses from both countries to operate across the Iranian, Russian, and wider Eurasian markets.
