Madanizadeh said the administration of President Masoud Pezeshkian had consistently pursued a policy of broadening relations with neighboring and like-minded states, as well as with countries around the world that are prepared to engage with Iran on the basis of mutually beneficial cooperation.

“Over the past two years, effective measures have been continuously taken to expand these relations,” Madanizadeh said, adding that the results of those efforts could be seen in the resilience demonstrated by Iran’s economy amid what he described as a period of economic pressure and sanctions.

He said his current visit to Russia was focused on advancing government-to-government consultations aimed at expanding bilateral economic and financial ties.

The discussions, he added, cover a broad range of areas, including financial cooperation, logistics, the development of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), trade facilitation and the expansion of commercial links between Iran, Russia and other countries in the region.

Madanizadeh said extensive consultations had already taken place between Iranian executive bodies and their Russian counterparts ahead of his visit, with several memorandums of understanding and agreements already signed.

“As the president’s representative, we are seeking to finalize these issues during this visit,” he said, expressing optimism that the talks would produce tangible results.

He also pointed to the prospect of significant developments in bilateral financial cooperation, saying that new arrangements and greater financial facilitation could soon translate into increased trade, higher exports and imports, and stronger domestic production in Iran.

Madanizadeh is scheduled to travel to India after his Moscow visit to attend a meeting of BRICS finance ministers. His participation is expected to provide an additional platform for consultations on financial and economic cooperation among emerging economies and for advancing Iran’s engagement with the BRICS framework.
