Minister of Economy Meets with Ministers of Uzbekistan and Pakistan to Expand Regional Economic Cooperation

According to SHADA, Seyed Ali Madanizadeh, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Jamshid Kuchkarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, and Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue of Pakistan, on the sidelines of the Second Emerging Economies Summit in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia, to discuss ways to promote bilateral and regional economic cooperation.

In the meeting with the Uzbek minister, topics such as joint investment, development of transit routes, logistics cooperation, and bilateral economic programs were discussed, with an emphasis on continued technical and financial cooperation to facilitate trade relations.

During the meeting with the Pakistani minister, issues including customs and border cooperation, economic collaboration, facilitation of mutual trade, and increasing bilateral financial exchanges were discussed. Both sides emphasized using joint capacities to expand regional trade and facilitate the transit of goods.

The Second Al-Ula Emerging Economies Summit, hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, and senior economic officials from various countries. The summit provides a platform for discussion on common challenges and opportunities for emerging economies, strengthens regional and international cooperation, and enables the exchange of views on macroeconomic policies.
